The Perfect After School Mix Tape
For years, our after school has been divided into discrete programs on certain days in limited locations. Kids committed to one kind of gaming for the whole semester and parents had to make “the right lab” fit their schedules.
This spring, we’re continuing our hit one-size-fits-all format, MEGA MIX!
WHAT IS MEGA MIX?
For the first time kids will get a taste of everything the lab has to offer – that’s TEN YEARS worth of amazing program design - all in a SINGLE after school program (which will run every day in every Game Lab location)!
The first few weeks of the semester kids will get a chance to sample different types of gaming and tell us what they love. After that, each time they come to lab there will be two great options to suit their preferences!
While each of our locations will still have a primary focus (board games at Center Slope, Dungeons & Dragons at South Slope), every kid - regardless of day or location - will now have the chance to play it all:
Board Games
Dungeons & Dragons
Immortal Chess (INVENT NEW PIECES!)
Monsters & Minis (epic battles!)
OUTDOOR GAMES (Battle Lab!)
Design YOUR OWN GAME
CREATIVE WRITING
And more!!!
Sounds like fun? It will be! Just pick the location that works best for you and let’s get to our greatest year of gaming yet!
CENTER SLOPE (310 7th Ave)
SOUTH SLOPE (479 7th Ave)
We shuttle kids between our locations so everyone has access to all of our offerings!

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm trying to sign up for the board games/D&D/outdoors/etc program. How do I do that?
Whatever program you want to join, Mega Mix is that program! It will include all of the best parts of all our previous programs, and since kids get to decide what they play, they'll get to play their favorites more than anything else.
How does the process work?
For our first few weeks, we will showcase a few select activities for all of our kids to give them a taste of our offerings. Then we'll ask each child individually which activities they want to to do and which ones they don't. Once we've received answers from everyone in our program, we'll use that data to build out our schedule for the rest of the year, with the most popular activities appearing most often. From that point onward, each day we will run two activities at each location (like board games & chess at 310, or D&D & outdoors at 479), and we will place your child in the activity they've told us they prefer.
How often will my child get to participate in their favorite activity?
This will depend on how many kids vote for that activity at the start of the year, as the most popular choices will appear the most. But all of our activities will be a part of the schedule!
Does it matter which day or location I join?
We will offer the same two activity choices every day of the week, so it doesn't matter what day you sign up – pick whatever suits your schedule best!
Make sure you book the location that picks up from your school. We expect that board games will appear on our 310 schedule frequently, and D&D on our 479 schedule frequently, so if you want to lean into one of those activities, sign up there! If your school is not available for pickup at that location, please reach out to frontdesk@brooklyngamelab.com and we'll coordinate a shuttle – but keep in mind that all of our activities will feature at both locations, so if your child wants variety in their experience, they can do that anywhere. Can my child still be with their group of friends/D&D table?
Absolutely! Please note your friend requests on your Sawyer profile. We expect that many of our D&D tables from last year will return, and will still get to play D&D together most weeks!
I want to make sure my child spends time doing a certain activity even if they may not choose it. Can I submit a request as a parent?
If it's important to you that your child masters their chess skills or gets a chance to run around outside, please reach out to us at frontdesk@brooklyngamelab.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request in your child’s schedule.
