COVID PLAN
At Brooklyn Game Lab, the safety of staff and program participants is paramount and we have in place policies to specifically address risks and concerns due to Covid-19.
Brooklyn Game Lab has, and will continue to, adhere to recommended guidelines regarding health and safety, which may include conducting health checks, use of masks, and social distancing. Staff are required to be vaccinated against Covid -19 and vaccination is encouraged of all program participants, whether attending indoor or outdoor programming.
We are continuously evaluating health and safety recommendations and incorporating these into our policies and procedures, which are modified as needed.
Upon arrival, and before being admitted to programming, staff and children undergo a Health Screening which consists of a questionnaire to determine Covid status and exposure.
Individuals who should quarantine or isolate per current guidelines are expected to abide by requirements applicable to them and not attend programming.
Additionally, individuals living in a household where someone has tested positive for Covid will not be admitted to in-person programming until the Covid-positive household member is no longer required to isolate, and provided they themselves have no symptoms of Covid.
In the event an individual exhibits signs of Covid exposure or symptoms during Check-in or during the day, that individual is separated from others. Game Lab staff, in consultation with Game Lab Administration, determine appropriate action, which may include arrangements to send the individual home.
Children are encouraged to bring a mask to programming.
All individuals are encouraged to wear a mask when indoors. The use of masks when indoors may be required during periods of increased Covid risk.
Brooklyn Game Lab adheres to robust cleaning procedures which include regular disinfecting of surfaces and professional cleaning of the Lab spaces. Regular hand washing or use of hand sanitizer is encouraged for all program participants and disinfectant wipes are available for use as needed.
Brooklyn Game Lab has implemented an Air Filtration plan that addresses concerns associated with the Coronavirus and provides an added level of protection against air-borne irritants to all users of our spaces. As recommended by the CDC and EPA, Brooklyn Game Lab’s air filtration plan includes the use of portable air cleaners to supplement increased HVAC system ventilation and filtration. Brooklyn Game Lab has procured air purifiers, including several purchased in conjunction with a local public school that meet the needs of students and teachers in classroom spaces. These purifiers use Medical Grade True HEPA filters (MERV17), which are a hospital-grade filter typically found in clean rooms, like operating rooms. Regular HVAC maintenance and filter replacement, as well as the use of room ventilating fans also support high quality air environments in our spaces.
If you have any questions or concerns about these policies, please reach out to us in advance of arrival for programming.
